Safety
Instagram viewer and downloader sites are a common place for scams. Here's how to protect yourself, and how we try to keep our site safe.
Our safety promises
- We will never ask for your Instagram password, a login code or session cookies.
- We will never ask you to install an app or browser extension.
- We only show public posts and reels, through Instagram's official embed.
- We don't offer downloads of other people's content.
If a page that looks like ours asks for any of these, it isn't us. Please tell us.
Protect your Instagram account
- Only type your password into the official Instagram app or instagram.com.
- Turn on two-factor authentication in your Instagram security settings.
- Never share login codes sent to your phone or email, even with “support”.
- If you entered your password on a third-party site, change it right away.
Red flags on viewer and downloader sites
- They promise to show private accounts or Close Friends stories. That isn't possible legitimately.
- They ask you to “verify” by logging in or completing a survey.
- They push you to install an app, extension or “player”.
- They show many fake “Download” buttons or pop-ups.
Respect other people
Looking at public content is normal. Watching someone closely, saving their content without asking, or using it to harass them is not. If someone is making you feel unsafe on Instagram, use Instagram's block and report tools, and contact local authorities if you are in danger.
For parents and teens
PostsViewer is not designed for children. Instagram has its own age rules and teen account protections. Talk with teens about never sharing passwords and about thinking before saving or sharing other people's posts.
